About

West Penn Track Club promotes, finances, and participates in athletic including, but not limited to, track, field, cross country, and road running. We seek to enable club members to understand and more effectively utilize the strength and coordination of their bodies. We hope that by doing so they will become more confident and more aware of the dignity and worth of themselves and those with and against whom they train and compete.

We do not promote competition merely for the sake of winning or seek to win at all costs. We see competition as a chance to test runners against themselves as well as their peers. To the extent possible within our means, we enable and assist members to compete regionally, nationally, and internationally according to individual effort, ability, and promise. In addition to competing, our members support charities, local runners, and our communities by volunteering at local races

All members are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship, to be respectful of adversaries and officials, and to seek athletic recognition only upon the basis of merit and effort. We accept everyone without distinction or classification other than according to age and sex eligibility for competition. Nobody is required to compete to be a member. We welcome and encourage individuals focused on health and physical fitness.
